Mount Vernon Historic Sites
Historic Mount Vernon
Visitors may take a driving tour of the pre-World War II historical homes of Franklin County marked by the Franklin County Historical Association. The beauty and varied architectural styles are evident in just passing by. Signs in front of each home generally have three information lines, the first line is the name of the original owners, the second line is the year of construction, and the third lists the name of the current owners. Numbers on the accompanying map correspond with those in brackets in the listing of historical homes and can assist people in finding the homes’ location in the city.
