Mount Vernon City Lake, Highway 115 - one mile south of I-30 and Mount Vernon. Natural plants along the water's edge makes for great diverse bird habitat. Mount Vernon City Lake has a single boat ramp for launching and offers good fishing opportunities. Bass and crappie are reported in good supply at the lake. The lake is open dawn to dusk.
