Bob Sandlin State Park Franklin County is often called the “Gateway to Bob Sandlin.” The lake is known for its bass fishing. The state park, located off FM 21, has 66 camp sites with water and electricity, plus nine lake side sites, 12 screened shelters for camping and eight cottages (one room buildings with heat/air and two sets of bunk beds with no indoor plumbing); Restroom facilities with showers are located nearby. There is a designated swimming area, a playground, a fishing pier, and 4.5 miles of hiking / bicycling trails. Sites with water / electric are $12; lake front “premium” water / electric sites are $16; screen shelters are $20; and cottages are $35 plus tax; Group Pavilion is $30. Entrance fees are in addition to facility fees and they are $2 per adult per night and children 12 and under are free. Day use fees are the same, $2 per adult and children 12 and under are free.
