Mount Vernon City Lake Park
City Lake has a single boat ramp for launching and offers good fishing opportunities. Bass and crappie are reported in good supply at the lake.
Arena Park is operated by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Posse. The park offers water and electric hookups for up to 60 recreational vehicles north of the arena area. The Young Farmer Pavilion is located adjacent to the rodeo arena and RV park. The pavilion has 19,500 sq. ft. under roof. It has a 2,000 sq. ft. enclosed dining area with a kitchen, serving counter, and restroom. The dining area is adjacent to a 3/4 enclosed arena area with bleacher seating for 300 people and additional restrooms. It is used for FFA, arena, and other community events.
